Two zones are better than one.

Today’s kamado-style grills, based on a centuries-old design, are well known for their thick, insulated walls and excellent heat retention. Typically, coals are placed in the lower portion of the cooker and food is placed on an upper cooking grate creating a one-zone cooking environment (shown, upper right). Temperature is uniform throughout the grill’s cooking surface whether cooking low ‘n slow or at temperatures 700°+ F for searing.

The Slow ‘N Sear Deluxe Kamado has all of the sought-after characteristics of a high quality kamado cooker and then delivers MORE. Utilizing the patented Slow ‘N Sear® inside the cooking chamber, this kamado improves one-zone cooking and enables a true two-zone cooking environment (shown, lower right) creating the most versatile kamado on the market.

With the Slow ‘N Sear, coals are held higher in the grill and separated from the rest of the chamber by a vertical wall of water. This design achieves many firsts in kamado cooking:

  • Dedicated, simultaneous two-zone cooking with the creation of direct and indirect zones
  • True searing capability with direct heat from burning coals (not heat stored up in a cooking grate)
  • Easy access to coals at cooking grate level when needing to refuel
  • Improved smoke flavor through the generation of more smoke and cleaner smoke using TurboSlow™ technology

Traditional kamado one-zone cooking

Slow ‘N Sear Two-Zone Cooking

More smoke, cleaner smoke, better taste

Unmatched searing ability

Sear with direct flame at temperatures topping 1,000° F

The elevated placement of coals using the Slow ‘N Sear also allows for direct searing over high heat flame. The basket holds coals and concentrates heat for the ultimate kamado searing experience.

With two cooking zones available at all times it’s incredibly easy to use front- or reverse-searing techniques, too! No lengthy waits to heat up (or cool down) your grill.

High heat cooking requires a durable cooking grate; our stainless steel Two-Zone Cooking grate is included in the package!

Why a kamado?2019-02-21T09:41:58+00:00
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Our mission is to bring products to market that fulfill an unmet need.  The #1 request for a Slow ‘N Sear in a different grill type is for kamado cookers.  That request, and our own experience, shows that there is a desire among kamado users for true two-zone cooking.   With the Slow ‘N Sear we deliver proven, effective, reliable two-zone cooking.  It excels at low ‘n slow and high-heat searing and it easy to switch between them, something that existing kamados can’t do.

The other issue with kamado cookers is their inability to deliver true smoke flavor.  Due to the efficiency of kamados, it’s difficult to dial in low ‘n slow temperatures (225° F) without smoldering the coals.  The end result is often bitter smoke and little smoke ring.  With TurboSlow™ technology, we’ve developed a way to increase airflow (and amplify smoke flavor) without overshooting low ‘n slow cooking temperatures.

What type of charcoal is recommended? Do I have to use lump?2019-02-21T09:40:41+00:00
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

We designed the Slow ‘N Sear Deluxe Kamado to accommodate both lump charcoal and briquettes, feel free to use whatever you’re most comfortable with.

COMING SOON!  We’re launching our own brand of premium lump briquettes – all the long burning, low ash characteristics of lump charcoal with the ease and consistency of a briquette!

Can I use the kamado in a “standard” low ‘n slow cooking configuration with charcoal on a lower grate and a diffuser plate?2019-02-21T09:42:31+00:00
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Yes!  The kamado comes standard with a lower cast iron charcoal grate and a ceramic diffuser plate should you wish to use the entire upper cooking grate to hold food.

That said, with the included Elevated Cooking grate and the Slow ‘N Sear installed, you’re not losing any cooking space AND you get the added benefit of easy access to the coals if you need to refill or want to quickly switch to high-heat searing.

I’ve heard ceramic grills can crack under high heat. Is this a concern with this grill?2019-06-27T06:22:44+00:00
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Not at all.  We use Cordierite ceramic in our grill which has a very high thermal resistance.  We want you to enjoy all the high heat grilling and searing that the Slow ‘N Sear offers without concern for the durability of your grill.  You may notice some slight imperfections in the finish of your grill, but this is just a by-product of the manufacturing process and in no way affects the performance or durability of your grill.  Enjoy!

Is there a port for thermometer probes?2019-02-21T09:44:07+00:00
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Our high quality, thick felt gasket safely and securely accommodates thermometer probe wires without damage to the probes or air leaks into the grill.  No latch required!

Can I use a thermostatic controller with this grill?2019-02-21T09:45:47+00:00
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Yes!  The bottom intake vent is a standard size that will accommodate many different types of controllers already on the market.

    This Thing is a Beast!

    Tom Ferguson

Received my Kamado on Wednesday. Didn’t put it together until Sunday when I had some help available. Tomorrow I’ll get some lump and fire it up. Chuck roast will be my maiden cook. Putting this grill together gave me a whole new perspective on it. Pictures don’t give you a realistic idea of just how massive it is. As I said, this thing is a beast! Can’t wait to fire it up.

    Next Level Happiness

    David Polston

I’ve had a SnS in my kettles since it was first released. I’ve always been very happy with the performance and quality of the SnS and the food cooked using it has been a favorite of me, my friends, neighbors and family. I also have had an egg for about the same amount of time. What I liked most about the egg was that the environment (temperature, sun, clouds, rain) didn’t cause big temp swings and no real buildup of grease/crud on the interior surfaces, so less cleaning. I tell others that my egg (now sold) and my kettles (ain’t getting rid of them) got together one night and the result was my SnS Kamado. It truly is the best of both worlds in one cooker. I couldn’t be happier! It’s a keeper. This brisket is one of my recent cooks.

Excellent quality and even better value

I have been using my SNS Kamado for 3 months now. I have used it to cook everything from ribs, pork butts, steaks, chicken, vegetables, pizza and even bake my own homemade buns for BBQ. The performance of this kamado is absolutely perfect. There is a little learning curve when using the SNS vs kamado style only, but it is easily mastered after only a couple cooks. I can’t say enough things about this product, or any of the other SNS products I own, all are top quality. If I had to make to choice to buy this again, I wouldn’t hesitate and I definitely recommend the SNS kamado to anyone wanting to venture into kamado cooking.

    Worth the plunge

    Steve Winters

I’ve never been a Kamado fan. My brother has one (Primo) and I was like so what mostly. I know the challenges he experiences. Never really saw a need for one. I have a great pellet grill, a propane smoker and love my weber performer with the SNS accessories which made me a big fan of the product. So when this was announced I was immediately intrigued because of the SNS accessories that I was familiar with. I also was looking to thin my grilling herd some to save space mostly. After watching the videos and listening to some podcasts and reading a couple reviews I decided this just might fit the bill for me. Long story short it has been downright amazing. I sold off the weber and propane smoker and will be sticking with this and my MAK pellet grill. I have completed a handful of cooks now and thought I might have a learning curve with it but the SNS setup was business as usual and worked beautifully. I have smoked some ribs and chicken and grilled several times with the burgers and dogs. Each came out perfectly and love the stable heat retention for longer cooks. Rock steady temps at 225 with upper 80 degree days. Longest cook was about 6 hours and I still had half a basket of lump left and wood. Very efficient. I was able to get a ridiculously hot fire in a grill setup so while I thought maybe the grate would be set up too high to be really effective grilling burgers and the like I was completely wrong. If you want to be able to sear something on the lower grate it will give you a WAY hotter fire than I could get on the weber. The SNS on the weber was great for searing but is a small area so when cooking large amounts each cut would have to take its turn. This will give you the whole bottom of the grill like that so you want to sear all 8 steaks at once – done. . Let me just say if you are familiar with the SNS accessories and you want a better grill in every way (except weight maybe?) over the weber this is it. I am looking to try an overnight cook with a brisket soon to see how it stacks up to the set and forget MAK but based on my experience so far I expect it will fair very well. I think I may have finally settled down with the equipment I will stick with. I have had it for about a month now. In my opinion from someone who never had a care for a Kamado style unit this is the one to get if you want to get into that world. It is built as well or better than any Kamado out there and has all the right accessories (that no one else can offer) to literally do anything you want with it in cooking style.

When SNS Met Kamado - A Killer Combo

    Larry (of BEER-N-BBQ ny Larry)

As an owner of several kamados over the years, I really like how the SNS Kamado has closed the functional gaps and eliminated the limitations of traditional kamados to turn this kamado into a super versatile cooking machine! Dozens of cooking in already, I’ve ran this thing wild cooking various foods using various techniques and each time the results have been outstanding.

    Am Impressed

I’ve been waiting to do a review after I had had a few cooks under my belt and had a good feel for the cooker. So far I have been really impressed from the deliver to the setup and the overall quality of this Komado. I’ve been cooking on Weber’s for 45 years now and decided to try one of these out. I am retired now and wanted to finally treat myself to something new. Expensive? Yes, but with all of the SNS hardware that comes included and the options it affords you I can tell you I will be doing a lot of different things that I’ve never done on the Weber. while doing the first run with just charcoal to “burn in” I experimented with the airflow and temperatures. I was amazed at the low air requirements to keep it going. My next cook will be Babyback Ribs, kind of my specialty, so I will know more after that. I will be trying using it Komado style for the ribs, a first for me. So far I have done Pork Belly burnt ends, which turned out phenomenal, and Bacon from pork belly, also beyond phenomenal. After all I’ve read, that once you do your own Bacon, that you will never buy store bought again, I found that to be a true statement, even with my first try! I enjoy reading and watching everyone’s post on SNS Facebook page, I learn so much with different ideas, keep up the great work. One final statement: I have researched, looked at, considered other Komado grills before this one came out, but with my familiarity with the Slow N Sear I knew I wanted this one, and I am not Disappointed, and neither would you. GRILL ON”

    Outstanding quality

    Austin klein

I’ll start out that I am new to owning a kamado. Now that that’s out of the way, I have researched them heavily. I ended up not being satisfied with what I would get for the cost, and purchased a kettle with a slow n sear. And a Weber Smokey mountain. Results had been fantastic as expected. However when ABC released the infoon their version of a kamado, my interest peaked again. Having debated between the standard 18”, or high dollar 24” in the past, this one came in at 22”. Comparably priced as well. Perfect. That along with the few hundred in accessories that work in a standard kettle, this is a no brained! The quality is top notch, has an outstanding warranty, cooks as it should ( slight learning curve) and above all, you will have the best customer service you can find. Thank you Adrenaline BBQ company!
