The Slow ‘N Sear Plus is a revolutionary new kettle grill accessory allowing you to maximize cooking styles on your kettle grill while making it simple and easy to use.  Its patented design allows you to cook at low ‘n slow temperatures (225 F),  high-heat sear (1000+ F), or anything in between effortlessly – and all with the same device.  There’s no need to buy a dedicated smoker – you can have it all with the Slow ‘N Sear!

What makes the Slow ‘N Sear special?  

The charcoal basket holds a chimney-full of coals and keeps them away from the side of the kettle.  The basket holds more than twice as much fuel as a standard charcoal basket – you can cook for over 8 hours without needing to refill charcoal.  But more importantly the basket helps keep heat inside the kettle so you’re not warming up the air outside the grill.  This means more efficient fuel burn and your kettle will be less sensitive to ambient conditions (less babysitting the grill).

The integrated water reservoir spans the length of the charcoal basket acting as a thermal barrier between the coals and the indirect side of the grill.  When filled with water (it holds one quart) it generates consistent steam at low ‘n slow temperatures providing moisture for smoke adherence and a humid environment that keeps temperatures stable.

    This is a straight-up “must purchase” item for the Weber kettle. Amazing high-heat searing (better than my Big Steel Keg), and then off to the indirect side to suck up smoke. In 30+ years of grilling, I’ve never made better steaks. Looking forward to smoking ribs with it this weekend.

    After years of building a retaining wall out of aluminum foil to give me a two zone cooking area I ran across Baby Back Maniac’s video and decided to give it a try.The water trough is the game changer as it helps to regulate the temperature and adds a little moisture into the smoke. My aluminum foil contraption did give me indirect heating but the Slow N’ Sear stepped it up a notch and made my cooks that much better.

  8. 5 out of 5 Slow N' Sear Works, It's Everything They Say It Is

    First of all let me say that this is a heavy duty quality product. It is everything it’s advertised to be, 304 stainless steel & made in the USA. It’s built to last.
    I have always loved my Weber Performer but struggled to make it into the smoker I wanted it to be. The Slow N’ Sear solved that issue. I have used it to smoke ribs & pork butt with great results. I am still shocked at the moisture retention & the deep rich color that the Slow N’ Sear produces. Cooking steaks using the cold grate technique is a home run. It produces the best steaks I’ve ever eaten.
    Buy this product it’s worth it.

    After using this a few times, I am sure this is the last smoker accessory that I will ever need. I have two other dedicated smokers, but this makes me just want to keep the Weber kettle and get rid of the others. With kettle properly modified to seal for smoke and temp control, this thing makes it feel like you are cheating.

    Fantastic product. Makes grilling on my Weber performer better in many ways over the baskets that came with it.
    I did notice some slight warping on the bottom but I’m assuming that can be expected with extreme temps.

    I had a great birthday this year! Went from hoping I’d get a cook right, to having the tools to be certain. Got the SNS Plus from my wife ( I actually did the ordering ) and when I got a $25 Amazon gift card I immediately put it toward a Maverick 732 Adrenaline special remote 2 probe thermometer. No more guessing! And very little wrestling with the vents to achieve and maintain temperature targets.

    I’d urge people to watch all the videos in the series, and urge Dave and Justin to keep up the good work. Love the science behind the technique. In two months, have done 4 baby back cooks, 3 ribeye cooks, 1 Tomahawk ribeye, 8 or 10 crispy chicken thighs, three extra-thick bone-in pork chops, several smoked, stuffed jalapeño smokes, burgers and pork tenderloins. Wife loved them all except the last. “Not enough flavor; stick to the chops”

    I’m a St. Louisan, and there is a cut here that locals call pork steaks. Pork butt, cut into steaks. If looking for ideas for future videos, you’ll get lots of views from around here.

    Also love to learn some fish techniques on the SnS.

    This weekend going to take a stab at smoking a chuckie a la Philly recipe from the vids! If I do two, I may try one on the SnS and one on my other Weber using a snake. Photos on the FB page. Great product, guys!

    This is a terrific product. It makes a Weber kettle a first choice of grill/smoker product. Adrenaline is a first rate company. Great and very responsive customer service. It has set a standard of Weber add-on products. Just search you-tube for the slowNsear and you will find lots of examples of it’s use and positive results and comments. They’ve earned their rep. Excellent company and products. I got the Drip and Griddle pan as well. Very fine product,. Have only used it as a drip pan so far but I have no doubt it will do a great job, like a “flattop” for onion/peppers, burgers, bacon, eggs, and whatever else a “flattop” is good for.

  16. 5 out of 5 The heat of summer kept us from using the slow 'n sear as much as we had hoped

    I originally bought this for my husband. He was so busy with our business, that I decided to try my hand at it. I had just bought four pounds of tri tip from Costco. YouTube really helped me to understand how to use the Slow ‘n Sear plus I found a recipe that was a knockout! It was some of the best, if not the absolute best, steak we’d ever had and we eat our fair share of beef. The rub recipe I used is linked below. NOTE: I did not make the sauce because we don’t eat horseradish. The tri tip was perfect with just the rub. No regrets!

  17. 5 out of 5 INCREDIBLE Product! Love the Slow 'N Sear, truly the best thing I own for my Weber Kettle

    As I read about the Slow ‘N Sear something just said this is special. My Wife bought this for my birthday, what a great gift! In the past I always made steaks, burgers, brats and chicken on my Weber, but I never would try any long cooks because I just didn’t feel the Weber was truly up to the task, so even though I wanted to make ribs, meatloaf, roasts etc. I didn’t. What a game changer the Slow ‘N Sear is. What I love is how easy it is to use and the great support Adrenaline BBQ give you. The website has all these great recipes and videos, if that wasn’t enough the support on the Facebook group is incredible. This is truly a package deal you can’t get anywhere else!!!

    When I got the Slow ‘N Sear, I started off slow to get to know how it works, the first day I decided to do some Brats low and slow. They were truly the best brats we have ever had, EVER. From there is was burgers, then steaks. I was amazed at how the Slow ‘N Sear turned my Weber into a completely different grill, a nice even predictable temperature, the grill responds easily to changing the vent settings. The things I have been cooking for years were easier to cook and tasted so awesome.

    With some new knowledge gained from cooking things I knew, I branched out to things I wanted to try but wouldn’t in the past. First was Meatloaf, low and slow and what treat, my wife and I now have this on a regular basis, its that good! Then I tried something I think we all would love to do well, St Louis style ribs. The video and info on this site made it go so well, incredible results on the first try. Then thanks to the Facebook group I tried a Chuck Roast AKA Pulled Beef. Rather than pull this, I cut it into Kansas City style Burnt Ends, I tell you what, living in Kansas City I know what Burnt Ends should taste like and we were blown away how close this Chuck Roast tasted like burnt ends. Incredible!

    Rarely do I write product reviews, this is a great product, as they say they didn’t invent the kettle but they perfected it. There isn’t a better statement, my Weber has been perfected. But most important, this product has the backing of an incredible company, never have I felt after buying something that I had the support to make it all happy as you get from the Adrenaline BBQ Company. Thank you, I sincerely mean that!

    I was considering purchasing a Weber Smokey Mountain bullet smoker but I’m glad I opted for the Slow and Sear. have used the Slow and Sear for multiple cooks now. Really like to sear steaks using the cold grate technique. I have smoked 2 pork shoulders and 1 brisket so far. Both turned out excellent. I am still experimenting to get the temperature to stay between 225-250 by stacking coals, limiting the number of coals, adding coals periodically, etc. Very solid construction which will last a long time. .

    I’ve made awesome brisket with the Slow N Sear on my 26″ Weber kettle. The only issue I have is when using Kingsford Blue the ash tends to clog up the Slow N Sear grate. I’m still looking for the ideal charcoal to use for long smokes (i.e. overnight) without messing with the Kettle/coals.

    I got it in the other day. So When I got off work the other day I fired up the grill using the Slow ‘N Sear Plus!!!! I did a few different things to see how it would do. A couple of nice Ribeye’s. A few big pork country style ribs. Plus a pack of hot dogs. WOW!!! Was I impressed!!!! It worked great!!!!! Great construction!!!! Great deal!!!!

    Over the last 10 years I have dabbled in offset stickburners, kamados, and bullet smokers. With the slow n sear plus I have a totally new interest in my ol’ trusty Weber 22.5 inch grill as a very fine lean mean smokin’ machine. The conversion has allowed me to utilize my Weber for smoking smaller amounts of food utilizing good ol’ fashioned charcoal briquets. The setup is fast, and the cleanup is quick. The Weber kettle now gets more service than all my other smokers. Kudos for such a great invention.

    I needed an entirely new BBQ setup; went with a Weber Kettle (22″ Performer) + Slow & Sear Plus. Perfect. Exactly 225 degrees (or about any temp you want) consistently. The “extended burn” + moisture added keeps me from hovering over the grill for ~4 hours.

    Makes loading, managing and controlling the Weber 22.5 much easier. I am still fine tuning a constant temperature but I have confidence the slow n sear will be the right tool. With this, the drip pan and meat thermometer, using the BBQ is fun. ABC videos/support help to lower the learning curve. I balked at the price – but would not want to go back.Thanks Adrenaline.

    Love the Slow N’ Sear Plus. It delivers exactly what’s said on the web site. It’s so very much better than simple indirect cooking on a Weber grill. I was looking at kamado style grills but they’re quite cost prohibitive. This is a much simpler and flexible solution. The cooking videos on the web site are quite helpful too. I’ve done beef and pork with great results. Fish is next up on the menu!

    I never give anything 5 stars unless it way over the top in quality, functionality, and price. Another words I am a hard reviewer. I have used the S&S four times now. As you can see I have rated it at 5 stars.
    The S&S Plus is a great tool for your BBQ. Works as described and much better than other methods I have tried.
    The build quality is as advertised. I purchased the Plus version as I thought the bottom grid would prevent warping or a dent if I dropped it.
    I am still figuring out how to maintain a 225 temp. My Webber simply seems to want to run at 250 degrees. I am using the Thermoworks Smoke for temp readings. My next set up will be to run less charcoal in the middle of the S&S and fatter on the ends. My theory is that there’s obviously more charcoal burning through the thicker middle section, and that’s naturally going to run hotter.
    The bottom line folks good product here, I recommend it.

    After a few runs with the SnS plus my big smoker isn’t getting as much attention. This thing is everything as advertised. For big cooks i may have to use the big smoker but for normal weekend ribs or butts or steak searing you can’t beat the SnS Plus!!!!!

  49. 5 out of 5 An absolute must have accessory for your Weber Kettle

    I’ve bought the Slow N Sear in Nov 2016 and have done numerous cooks with it. It makes indirect/2-zone cooking a breeze on a Weber Kettle and provides easy flexibility if you want to run your cook with water. Searing burgers and steaks is a breeze. I honestly believe I’ve produced some of the best steaks I’ve ever made using a reverse sear which the SnS makes very easy. If you want to improve your end products on the grill this is a must have accessory.
    I upgraded to the Plus due to the bottom ventilated grate and am glad I made the upgrade. You can move it around in the grill if you want/need to and the charcoal just moves with you. I use natural wood briquettes and they tend to crumble a bit more than Kingsford Original so I would end up with a lot of larger bits of briquette dropping down into my ash pan. I noticed bottom grate in the Plus holds onto this bits better allowing them to either completely burn or burn further down before dropping. Helps the charcoal last a little bit longer and make reusing charcoal across cooks much easier. Very glad I made the upgrade to the Plus.

    Only used the product once, but can’t wait to use it again. Brought a ribeye up to desired temp. While I let it cool down a bit I threw my sous vide brussel sprouts on to crisp up a bit. Steaks went back on for the final sear. Never had such a confined heat area before while grilling.

    I put my new Slow n Sear Plus to the test during a recent Arctic blast of weather here in the great white north. I had a friend coming over whom we had not seen in ages. I promised him the finest ribs ever, cooked up on my Weber Performer and my SnS. I also had a Smoke thermometer from Thermoworks – an absolute must for me now. The ribs looked beautiful as they sat there ready to go on the grill mid day for that night’s dinner. It was cold out, very cold in fact. That is not usually an issue. I barbecue all year long and am a hardy recent convert to the joys of charcoal cooking. However, the temperature went to around minus 30 degrees Celsius, with a wind chill in the high 30s. It was so cold, it hurt. Managed to coax the grill to 225 degrees F, with some black Diamond charcoal and some local apple wood. I covered the ribs with my marvellous mojo spice and placed them on the grill. I have the abc drip griddle pan, so that helped things roll along well. I was able to maintain a constant temperature for hours without cracking the lid much. Only issue was that some water splashed down to the bottom of the grill, and froze my vents in place. The rest of he cook was in the hands of the bbq goddess of fortune. After about 6 hours or so, the ribs came off, and were a huge hit. Could not have done it without my SnS. Thanks ABC. I want a stainless steel one for my Jumbo Joe I just bought. Keep up he great work. Love the videos – the cold grate method is my go-to process now. Cheers!

    The slow n sear plus really is the perfect accessory for a Weber charcoal grill. Whether I want to charbroil an 8oz steak or smoke 2 (8)lb pork shoulders{see pic below;)} the SnS plus gets the job done and effortlessly. For smoking which I do often, the SnS plus creates for me the perfect smoke ring and taste on meats every time. My wife who did not like smoked taste before has a better appreciation for it now. I highly recommend this for any grilling beginner or expert.

    I have been cooking on Weber grills for over 30 years. I don’t know exactly how long they have been making this Slow N Sear but it is absolutely a “must have”! It is excellent for indirect cooking and the BEST for searing. I starting experimenting with REVERSE SEAR last November and I am getting rave reviews on it. This product makes it very easy to grill at low temps on the indirect side and then searing on the direct side to finish off great steaks, chops, and rack of lamb!!! I bought two! Also, I got a Weber Summit Charcoal grill for Christmas this year and it works great in that too!

  54. 4 out of 5 Great Smoker Accessory for Weber Grill

    I have a weber kettle and love it, but I was looking for something that would allow us to do some elementary smoking. I came across the Slow N Sear on amazingribs.com (and after pouring through their Meatheads book). They highly recommended the accessory highly, calling it the “The Single Best Accessory For The Weber Kettle Ever”. The Slow N Sear is PERFECT for 2 zone cooking and makes it easy to position the charcoal. We’ve gotten the GrillGrates since then and plan on getting the Drip ’N Griddle Pan as well. The only thing I would add is that the Slow N Sear has gotten slightly warped from the heat after only a few uses. I expected this over time, but I’ll be curious to see how long it holds up.

    • Does the twist from warping cause less water volume capability? or any spillage? Does the twist prevent the charcoal basket from sitting flat? Good to know, thanks for the info.

    • This is actually really good to know! My original model has warped too and I was initially worried (it happened after a cook or two) but I thought I noticed the ones in some of the how to videos also had the same warp, so I didn’t worry. Seeing this is handy. Thanks!

    • Thank you for your review! The slight warping of your reservoir is normal and a by-product of the very high quality 304 stainless steel metal we use to make the Slow ‘N Sear. 304 SS is very durable, corrosion resistant, and has a super high melting point of 2500 F. These are all good qualities in a charcoal basket/water reservoir. The downside of 304 SS is that it has a slightly higher coefficient of expansion than cheaper metals like carbon steel as well as cheaper types of stainless steel. Because the inner wall of the water reservoir gets much hotter than the outer wall, especially when searing, some warping can occur during hot cooks. The inner wall expands more then the outer wall due to the different temperatures each wall reaches during the cook. The shape should return to normal once it cools down, though in many cases a small amount of warping remains. This is normal and we baked this into our product claims of 5 hours of steam and 8+ hours of low and slow cooking. Your Slow ‘n Sear weathers this warping quite well and will last you many many years.

    I’ve owned similar devices over the years for my kettle but the SnS is far superior in design and build quality. There is is also a large community of “Searheads” out there to connect with and share techniques, recipes, ask questions, and to just have overall good BBQ banter with. i highly recommend this addition to your kettle, my friends/family are glad I did!

    The slow n sear is well made and it holds heat at high temperatures also very versatile! Holds head for hours! It cuts down on lump charcoal refills. Great for searing and smoking meat and probably other applications as well but still exploring! Great job ABC!

    I’ve tried the offset smoker and almost gave up smoking meat. After purchasing my Weber Kettle and watching some Youtube accessory reviews I found the Slow n’ Sear. Since I purchased it, I have not fired up my offset again. Don’t worry about the offset, it will not be lonely or feel neglected, it makes a great storage area for all your Kettle tools and accessories!

  59. 4 out of 5 Excellent to sear, still learning to smoke

    Bought the SNS Plus for my Weber Master Touch for the ability to smoke over lump instead of smoking using the snake method with briqs. I’m still experimenting with the kit but I’m capable of lighting it and tuning to 220F in about 10 minutes from start – it still requires quite some baby sitting during the cook though.

    What’s exceptional though is how this device helps grilling, defining a clear, totally separated indirect zone and reaching extreme high temps over the direct zone, like turning the built-in temp meter over 700F with half a chimney of lit lump. I don’t see myself ever grilling in the kettle without the SNS Plus!

    5 out of 5 An impulse buy that I can be proud of!

    My wife bought me a new Weber grill for my Christmas and I wanted to show my appreciation by smoking some ribs. I usually just push all of the charcoal to one side of the grill but for me it always lead to inconsistent fuel consumption and temperatures. After perusing Weber accessories on an online retailer I randomly came across the Slow N’ Sear Plus. The creators are passionate about the product, the science made sense, the reviews were positive, it’s simple to use, and it’s made in the USA. Why wouldn’t I buy this? Well after going through the purchase on that online retailer’s site, I discovered that shipping to Hawaii wasn’t available. Doh! So instead of giving up I purchased it directly from the Adrenaline Barbecue website and paid the additional shipping. I’m so glad I did as this product makes BBQ’ing so much more fun and simple. From searing steaks or kalbi short ribs, to smoking ribs, or reverse searing a tri-tip; the SNS+ will make you feel like the king of the grill!

    5 out of 5 The best investment EVER!

    I have tried the big 4ft indirect smoker and the instability of temps, caused me to try the Slow n Sear. Needles to say I have retired my big smoker and I am now using the slow n sear on average 3 days a week. I went in with reading the reviews and comparing products like I do on every purchase. I bought the Slow n Sear plus, a Weber 22 inch copper grill and a digital thermometer. Even my wife and kids have no problem with barbecue alot more often due to not having to here me fuss about temp fluctuations anymore. I can’t say enough about this product. Also I had a question on a Saturday afternoon , so I called the customer service number on the pamphlet, and guess who answered the phone? The owner David Perrish. YOU DON”T GET THAT WITH EVERY COMPANY.
    Not only do you get a great product, but also great BBQ support on the Facebook page for owners of the Slow n Sear.

    5 out of 5 Slow N' Sear Plus

    Purchased this after reading reviews. My first use won me first place trophy for pork ribs at my first ever BBQ competition. I was using it on a 22.5″ Weber. Worked great! There were many high end cookers at contest and I had the only “poor mans smoker” so made the win that much better. Thanks for the great product!!!!
    I will be purchasing the new Drip N’ Griddle Pan next.

    Where do I even begin? I’m the guy that made home made baskets and did test cooks/burns and revisions upon revisions. After a few tries I got my kettle to dial in perfect with those home made deals. I’ve always wanted a slow n sear for those times I really didn’t want to fire up my WSM or UDS. When I finally got one it was a game changer! I lit it per recommendation and it did its thing off the bat! I don’t even have to check on it once it’s set to low and slow. Just put the ribs in and let it go! And the fuel consumption is crazy! I haven’t done anything over 5 hours yet and in that time I’m still left with more than half my load! I’ll be getting the griddle soon to complete the set. A+ guys!

    I have the SnS XL for my 26″ that I use for long cooks and I use the SnS plus for shorter cooks, even though I can do the same with either. My SnS plus on my performer is my go to for chicken, rib tips, tri-tip, steaks, tuna, etc.. or anything I cook at a higher heat. I just love this product and highly recommend it!

    The Slow n Sear Plus is an exceptional accessory for the Weber Kettle.     Ok so after looking at this product for some time thinking that there couldn’t be that much magic to it and I needed to find out for myself, all I can say is… No hype and 100% great!

    I took it out of the box and put it to work immediately on my 22′ Weber. My wife has said we’ll never go out again for steaks, chicken, ribs or anything else for that matter. I have several grills and now am selling some because the SNS has turned my Weber to an amazing cooker.. You name it from doing ribs for 4-5 hrs to reverse searing on my steaks that have been the tastiest ever.. I never knew Bbq chicken could be so good..

    Like I said, I thought it was hype that this accessory could be so amazing but… No hype, just 100% greatness!

    A purchase this product for my 26-inch Weber kettle Grill, it actually turned it into a low and slow smoker my water tray will last about 8 to 9 hours as well as my charcoal tray using cheap charcoal, this is by far the best money I’ve spent from my grill. If you purchased this product you will not be disappointed. I give it 5 stars and two thumbs up.

    The Slow ‘n Sear Plus was the first upgrade for my Weber Performer. I decided to buy it because of the build quality and the involvement of the owner and team at ABC. The device beat my expectations. I was able to easily establish the low temp needed for a rib eye reverse sear, which is right in the “low and slow” wheelhouse of the SnS. The basket creates a blazing hot area for searing. The heavy gauge stainless steel didn’t even hint at warping at these extreme temps. I can’t be happier with the product and am happy to support a company that is so customer focused. A+ product and team!

    You seriously need a Slow n Sear. I got my Weber Kettle 22.5 as an upgrade over a department store cheapo. The Weber was great.

    The slow n sear makes it FANTASTIC. Hanging onto well defined two zone cooking and low n slow temp is so easy with the SNS. It’s a game changer. Perfectly reverse seared steaks, falling off the bone ribs, super tender pulled pork, and top notch burgers are easy to cook now.

    My favorite thing about SNS is how consistent my cooks are now. Can’t recommend enough. Best Weber accessory you can buy.

    I was pretty proud of the fire brick setup I used before I bought the SnS, but I the SnS plus blows it to pieces. As a self-contained unit, I don’t have to worry about having a brick fall down inside my grill and having to remove everything to stand it back up. I just fill and light my SnS according to the instructions, add water, set my vents, and relax.
